I'm a lecturer and pathway leader for 3D design on the Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at ΢ÃÜȦ School of Art. Drawing influence from the nuanced ways in which humans behave and interact, my interest in the made often takes the form of playful, interactive or tactile work. Whilst my practice spans across furniture design, interior & spatial design, graphic design and art direction, I'm most drawn to the particular area of design which falls between concept and craft. I try to apply an understanding of materials to a given idea, with the intention of achieving the most suitable means of communicating that idea. Where I can, I aim to work predominantly offscreen.

I lead the 3D pathway on Foundation, where we cover the made thing: an exploration of ideas, feelings, form and function through the design of the physical environment and the objects within it. We respond to a brief, question or problem through design - however rationally or speculatively that might be, and we tend to consider audience, context, narrative and material. Ultimately, we look at the world in three dimensional terms - objects, spaces and people.
